My approach to wedding photography is pretty laid back. I believe wedding photography should be unposed for the most part. I want to capture your wedding day as it is, it should reflect you, not me.
Some photographers like to stage shots and dictate how their clients act infront of the camera. Posed photographs of couples looking at the camera don’t do anything for me personally. There will be plenty of those kinds of shots from guests will their cameras and cell phones.
I like to capture moments as they happen in real time. People look better when they are not aware of the camera, and for that reason I choose to take more candid photographs throughout the day.
Documentary wedding photography or ‘reportage photography’ as it is sometimes known by is a genre of photography where a photographer will capture moments as they happen. I intervene very little in order to accurately represent your wedding and not alter the course of events.
