Wedding photographer MID Wales

Mid Wales is an often-overlooked gem for weddings — offering incredible seclusion, lush green valleys, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes for wonderfully intimate celebrations.

The region is home to standout venues such as Lake Country House & Spa in Llangammarch Wells, Llangoed Hall near Brecon, and Gliffaes Country House in Crickhowell, all of which provide a stunning natural canvas for wedding photography. Whether you’re deep in the Brecon Beacons or the Cambrian Mountains, I travel across all of Mid Wales to tell your story through beautiful, natural images.

FAQ

Q: Is Mid Wales difficult to get to for guests? A: Mid Wales is very accessible from both South and North Wales, as well as from the English Midlands. Many couples choose Mid Wales precisely for its central location — it’s often easier for guests travelling from different parts of the UK than more remote coastal areas.

Q: Are there many wedding venues in Mid Wales? A: More than most people realise — and they tend to be exceptionally high quality. Mid Wales has a wonderful selection of country house hotels, working farms, outdoor glamping venues, and exclusive-use estates. Because demand is lower than in more well-known regions, you’ll often have more flexibility on dates and better value for money.

Q: Do you photograph farm weddings and outdoor celebrations in Mid Wales? A: Yes — some of my most memorable weddings have been at farm venues and outdoor settings in the Brecon Beacons and Cambrian Mountains. I love the creativity that relaxed, rural venues allow and I’m very experienced at working with natural light in open countryside.

Q: What’s the light like in Mid Wales for photography? A: It’s extraordinary. Because there’s so little light pollution and the landscape is so open, golden hour in Mid Wales — especially in the Brecon Beacons or by the Elan Valley reservoirs — can produce some of the most breathtaking natural light I’ve ever worked in.

Q: Do you cover elopements or intimate ceremonies in Mid Wales? A: Absolutely — Mid Wales is a wonderful setting for an elopement or micro-wedding. I offer bespoke packages for intimate ceremonies and would love to discuss your plans.

Q: Can you recommend the best spots for couple portraits in Mid Wales? A: There are so many — the Brecon Beacons, the shores of the Elan Valley, the River Wye at Llangoed Hall, and the woodland trails around Lake Country House are all incredible. I always carry a list of local hidden gems and will tailor the portrait session to your venue and surroundings.
